Romans 12:2: "Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."

Happy Death Day is an exciting mix of horror and mystery. Jaded sorority girl Tree Gelbman receives a mysterious and exhausting birthday present, a time loop. What perfect timing, because the time loop saves her life from an obsessive killer. So, she embarks on a mission to discover and confront her killer. Only then can she end the cycle.

Every time she dies, she wakes up in the dorm room of Carter Davis, a kind stranger who gives her protection and solace. Carter is the only person in her life with her safety and well-being at heart. He shows her love and support to which she is not accustomed. He is a refuge of love.

Because of this, Tree learn to reassess her priorities in life. She begins with selfish priorities. She obsesses over affairs, drinking, and diets. She spends more time partying instead of studying. She is a terrible friend and student. She avoids her father. She is alone in life.

Zephaniah 3:12: "Those who are left will be the lowly and humble, for it is they who trust in the name of the Lord."

Happy Death Day is not only a horror and mystery, but also a touching romance. Carter is the kind of man any woman desires. He protects her. He helps her. He believes her crazy story. He supports her quest for truth.

With each resurrection she approaches her day differently. She becomes compassionate, kind, supportive, and selfless. She stands up to bullies. She helps people in trouble. She ends her affair. She builds bridges. She She learns who her true friends are. She learns what love is.

Her journey ends when she is free from the loop having learned the truth about her mystery. She also learns the truth about herself: who she is in the beginning vs. who she becomes. The two people would not even recognize each other. Her gift of a second chance at life will be spent with through new eyes and with a deep appreciation for the things that truly matter.

Friends. Family. Love.

How are your priorities in life?
How are your relationships?
Do you burn bridges or build bridges?
If given a second chance, what would you do differently?

Psalm 91:1-2: "Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him."
