STEPHEN STRANGE GOES BACK TO SCHOOL IN 'DOCTOR STRANGE'.

Proverbs 11:2 says, "Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom." (NLT)

Doctor Strange is another remarkable addition to the Marvel Avenger franchise by introducing the brilliant, powerful Dr. Stephen Strange. The story follows Strange as he transitions from thriving brain surgeon to powerful sorcerer. His role in the Infinity War will no doubt be paramount, especially since he comes into possession of one of the infinity stones.

We explore in what way he makes such a fast and remarkable transition. The first step is the most crucial.

Humility .

During his thriving career as a medical doctor, he proves his tremendous skill and intelligence. However, he is also prideful, selfish, and reckless. Such recklessness leads to an injury that takes away his ability to perform surgeries. He loses everything.

Matthew 23:12 says, " But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted." (NLT)

Only in this state of extreme humility is he able to open himself to a greater power and greater understanding. He learns to shift his priorities from his own welfare to the welfare of others. He learns relinquish control. He learns to care. He learns to love. Then and only then does he affectively defeat the evil that threatens the world.

The ultimate act of selflessness: SACRIFICE

I look forward the continuation of the Avengers franchise and the contributions that Doctor Strange make.

With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spiderman: Homecoming currently in theaters and Thor: Raganarok premiering in November, Black Panther will be the remaining film between Infinity War and eager Marvel fans. All the Marvel heroes will unite for the first time.
