ESCAPE ROOM (2019) Movie Review

The first premiere of the New Year will have you sitting on the edge of your seat with Escape Room , a story that takes a fun pass-time to a deadly level. A unique mix of Cube franchise and the Saw franchise without any uncomfortable gore, this psychological thriller keeps the viewer guessing from the start to the end of the game. So much so that one would expect to see Jigsawappear to the survivors at the end of the twisted game.
The nightmare begins with a unique invitation hidden in a puzzle box addressed from a friend, family member, or trusted client. Six seemingly random people are lured to an escape room company with the promise of a $10,000 prize. All they need to do is escape each maze before the clock runs out. What they don't realize until after they are already trapped is the fatality of that clock. They are fighting against the clock of life. Escape the room before you die. With each passing maze, a player is lost and the chances of survival decrease.

Escape Room is also a story that illustrates the value of thinking outside the box, both figuratively and literally. When facing off with a corrupt serial killing organization, the "rules" are false and unreliable. The game is fixed against the players from the moment they stroll into their first trap. Only by breaking the rules of a typical escape room can the players find a safe exit from the game.
These fatal mazes orchestrated by evil is a fair representation of life itself. Each room represents a personal trauma or phobia that a player harbors. Evil does this to catch us off guard and ensure disastrous mistakes. As a result, people panic. Panic causes mistakes, which lead to the death of a player. Only when they remain calm and think clearly can they hope to succeed.
Dark surprises lurk around every corner in life. We never know what to expect. We must remain on guard and keep calm at all times. Otherwise, the mistakes we make could have irreversible consequences. Remain calm. Think outside the box. Stay together. Only then can we achieve our great purpose in this world.
