IN DARKNESS (2018) Movie Review
One blind woman takes on the world.

In Darkness is an incredible thriller that follows the struggle of Sophia, a blind pianist who overhears a possible murder through the walls of her apartment complex.
The deeper she dives into the investigation, the darker the world around her. The people responsible for her neighbor's death discover she is a witness. They must decide if she a lose end, because she does not see their faces or the crime.
Luke 1:78-79 - "Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace." (NLT)
Already lost in physical darkness, she faces spiritual darkness as well. Despite her physical limitations, she becomes lost in the midst of this investigation where she cannot break free. Criminals surround her. Danger lurks around every corner. She is stalked, watched, beaten, and nearly killed. This dark world nearly consumes her.
Throughout the story, Sophia reveals how deeply involved she is in this world. In fact, she becomes a willing participant. Her only way out of the darkness and into freedom is to fight it head on, but she cannot fight alone. She makes unlikely friends. Together, they destroy her mortal enemy, the man responsible for causing darkness throughout the world.
Is it enough?
Psalm 139:12 - "but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you." (NLT)
We cannot fight darkness with more darkness. The only way to face darkness in the world is with light. Jesus Christ is the light of the world. His light can defeat all darkness. He can restore any broken heart. He can guide any lost soul.
Let the light of Christ guide you through your life.
