The year is 1988, and technology is subpar. When unexplained death begins to occur all over town, it takes an incredibly open mind to fathom the possibilities. Officer Thomas Lockhart is that mind, especially when he has a lot to prove in light of his ambitions to earn a promotion. All he wants is a better life for his wife and unborn daughter.
At least that is how it begins. Until he endures a tragedy. His wife dies in childbirth, and he accidentally kills the suspect on the scene. He eventually loses his partner. With the suspect dead and no one to back him up, his career stumbles. He goes from officer to detective to Private Investigator. Poor, disgraced and alone, he never stops investigating. He never ceases his pursuit of the truth.
A new clue arises every nine years, but what does he do with the remainder of that time? Ambition becomes an obsession. His obsession to clear his costs him custody of his daughter. He loses sight of his priorities entirely. In the end, the truth sets him free. He finally discovers the identity and motive of the killer. The revelation teaches him to rearrange his priorities and accept the unexpected turns his life takes. Above all, he learns to appreciate his few blessings: a family.
Thomas never ceases in his pursuit of truth. He stumbles upon a case that no one understands. Yet, he is the only person motivated to see it through to the end while the world around him continues to turn. People let it go. Others blame an innocent party. Only he knows better, that a supernatural game is at play. He feels an urge to understand it. His perseverance rewards him with the truth. With that truth, he learns to live his best life.
What truth drives you?
