Psalm 133:1 - "How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!" (NLT)

Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston reunite since their romantic and comedic roles in Just Go With It where they play professional colleagues find love on a tropical holiday. After eight years, the actors' chemistry has not lost its touch in Murder Mystery, where Sandler and Aniston play a bored married couple that struggles to rekindle their romance while on a European holiday.

Nick and Audry Spitz are united through their interest in crime. Nick is a police officer while Audrey loves to obsess over murder mystery novels. However, Nick loses his passion for the job after many years of being stuck in the same position. He never knows the glory of promotion to detective. Meanwhile, Audrey loves the lure of a mystery.

He and Audrey, his wife, of fifteen years, are stuck in a rut. They are stuck on a tight budget and never have children. Worst of all, they stop communicating. In fact, Nick lies to Audrey. This crime novel fan believes he is a detective.

After fifteen years of promises, he finally takes her on their honeymoon to Europe, but his plans are disappointing until Audrey charms the very wealthy and lonely Charles Cavendish. Desperate for company, he invites the pair to a family party. Suddenly, their vacation becomes a dream. They spend the night on a massive yacht where there are incredible food and entertainment of plenty.

They suddenly find themselves in the midst of a terrible murder mystery novel when their host is murdered under the cloak of a power shortage. As the bodies start to pile up, they strive to discover the killer together. Each of them approaches the mystery from opposing points of view. Nick is rational, speaking from reality and experience. Audrey pulls her knowledge from the formula of her books. Who is correct? The realist or the idealist? Can two opposing minds come to the same conclusion?

Their impromptu investigation causes them many trials along the way. Audrey faces temptation when she meets the charming, handsome Charles Cavendish. They become the chief suspects in the murder investigation, so they must struggle to solve the case before they are arrested. They are put in danger every time the killer tries to stop their progress and kill them. Somehow, they survive. They endure, because they are together.

"We do things together." -Audrey to Nick

Regardless of the mystery, this mystery takes the pair on a journey that reignites Nick's passion for the job and deepens their connection. They unite through their common interests. Compatibility is essential for a loving relationship. Only after their adventure does Nick find the motivation to improve his career and fulfill his purpose. His hope to become detective returns.

Everyone has a purpose. The people we keep closest should honor that purpose. Spouses should be the most supportive of each other, as Audrey supports Nick's purpose in law enforcement. Together, they make the world a safer place.
