'QUARANTINE' TAKES ON NEW MEANING IN THE WAKE OF COVID.

Proverbs 31:8-9 - "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed."

Thanks to the use of technology, society is evolving. Everyone has a camera in their pocket, which forces people to consider accountability. Our actions are being recorded at any moment, and it can come back to bite us in a big way.

Such is the conspiracy woven into the plot of "Quarantine". In this terrifying mockumentary, the true hero of the story is not in front of the camera. He is behind it. Cameraman Scott Percival finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time with Reporter Angela Vidal. They take a mundane assignment to cover a routine night shift at the local fire station.

It turns out that night would be anything but routine. Their excitement to ride along on a medical call turns to terror after they find themselves trapped in a building filled with rabid cannibals. The CDC looms just outside refusing to hear their cries for help and freedom.

Throughout the night, the virus works its way through every person locked in the building. Hysteria claims the rest, including Angela. All lose hope of survival. However, Scott never turns off his camera, recording everything inside the building and searching for the truth. They realize they would not survive the Quarantine but hope the camera would.

Bodies keep dropping. Danger lurks around every corner. In the end, Scott and Angela are the only survivors. However, Angela becomes too hysterical to think straight. She needs his guidance through the building to the attic. She screams, cries, and jumps at every sound. Scott practically drags her to the top floor as rabid zombies attack him from every direction. All the while, he still holds onto the camera. The police officer in the building consistently demands he turn the camera off. Firemen push him out of the way. The CDC shuts him out. Eventually, Angela has a meltdown.

Joshua 1:9 - "This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Scott becomes alone in his endeavor, but he believes in his cause. Enough to keep a level head. Enough to stand against the bullies and the terror. Enough to risk his life.He stays alive long enough to stumble onto the cause of the outbreak in the attic of the building where he uncovers a terrorist conspiracy. The virus turns out to be a biological weapon. Infected lab rats riddle the residence of Patience Zero who foolishly infects himself with a rat that breaks loose and infects the building.

This discovery begs the question: Is the quarantine a necessary evil so the rest of the world filled with God's children can be spared this terrible infection that strips away our humanity? More importantly, does the quarantine succeed?

One can only hope.
