1 Timothy 6:10 - "For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows." (NLT)

When Grace marries into a wealthy gaming empire, she expects it to be the happiest day of her life. Instead, she finds herself in a desperate fight to stay alive. Ready or Not is the story about nightmare in-laws taking a family battle to a whole new level. Time and again, the theme is addressed: "Is she one of us?"

What does that mean? What distinguishes # from the rest of the family? It boils down to one distinguisher, a distinguisher chosen by the dark spirit ruling the family. Yet, they don't understand what truly distinguishes their family from the rest of the world. They believe the dark spirit chooses easy, weak prey, and they would do anything to protect their empire from these outsiders.

The entire family resents Grace believing she's an opportunistic gold digger. On the contrary, she is the only self-sufficient and resourceful person in the house. That is what makes her a true competition. That is what makes her worthy to play the deadliest game in the Le Domas arsenal: Hide and Seek.

Those willing to sell their soul for wealth are accepted, while the humble and selfless people become prey in a ruthless hunt.

This dark spirit wants a challenge. It wants a player that would defeat the family with his/her soul intact. It WANTS the family's reign to end. It pays respect to the one who wins the game.

Grace spends the night in excruciating pain and undefined terror fighting for her life. However, she engages in an even more important battle for her soul. Will she survive? Is she worthy enough to win the hunt and defeat the enemy?

Matthew 5:5 - "God blesses those who are humble, for they will inherit the whole earth." (NLT)

Much like Grace struggle, life plays a similar game. The ruthless and selfish thrive while the humble struggle to survive. Let the selfish one have their money and games. Those who understand the game of life keep their souls intact, because their rewards await in the next life. Salvation is our victory. Heaven is our reward.
