A PRIME EXAMPLE OF A PROPER LEADER

2 Timothy 1:7 - For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline." (NLT)

The final introduction story before the premiere of Infinity War , Black Panthe r is an incredible story about leadership. Following the events of Civil War where his father is murdered, T'Challa (aka Black Panther) return to his country of Wakanda to take his father's place as king. In light of his new power, he struggles in humility with the responsibilities. His primary goal is to do what is best for his people and for the world. The story follows his journey of self discovery after the past comes back to haunt him.

In light of his new power, he struggles in humility with the responsibilities. His primary goal is to do what is best for his people and for the world. The stress of the responsibilities weigh on him, because he understands that his choices produce heavy consequences.

One such choice he faces is the heaviest choice of all. How far is he willing to go to keep Wakanda's most precious resource a secret? Should it even remain a secret? On one hand, it bears the potential for unimaginable destruction. On the other hand, their technology could provide the world with relief including advanced medical care and economic efficiency.

1 Timothy 4:12 - "Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity." (NLT)

How does he draw the line? Should he draw the line? Does he have the right to draw that line?

These are questions he ponders, especially after the past comes back to haunt him. His father's attempt to keep the secret results in a man's death. His child is orphaned, which leads to a bitter and hard life. This orphan grows to be a ruthless warrior with no regard for the sanctity of life and a thirst for war. He poses a threat to Wakanda's resources and way of life. Such a man could single-handedly destroy the world. All as a result of keeping a secret.

T'Challa seizes the opportunity to learn from this man and his experience. He opens his eyes and his ears to the entire world, not just his country. Not for his benefit or profit. He listens. He cares. He loves. Because he listens, he turns the heart of a bitter, destructive man.

Proverbs 16:7 - "When people’s lives please the Lord, even their enemies are at peace with them." (NLT)

Let us all take this profound example to heart. People are watching. People are listening. Is what you say and do a proper example for the good of the people, the world, and the kingdom of God?
