THE AUTOPSY OF JANE DOE (2016) Movie Review

The Autopsy of Jane Doe is an incredible indie horror that focuses on a mysterious body that explores one simple goal. What the cause of death for Jane Doe?

She appears in the ground of a renovated basement after the mass murder of the home's family. Her identity and origin are a complete mystery, almost as if she appeared out of nowhere.

It becomes the responsibility of of father-son team Coroner Tommy Tilden and Medical Technician Austin Tilden to solve the case. What begins as a typical autopsy becomes a full investigation. Her body holds all the clues to her identity, her age, and her connection to the mass murder. Ironically, the one thing they do not find is cause of death.

Jane Doe is a medical mystery. Her skin is perfect. Her figure is appealing. Her face is beautiful. This perfect exterior is the complication that makes the cause of death so difficult to find. Meanwhile, her insides are destroyed with stabs, burns, and poison. The interior and the exterior do not match.

The deeper the Tildens dig, the more they discover. However, the key to solving the case lies beyond the physical realm into the spiritual. Her exterior shows flawlessness, her interior shows signs of extreme suffering, and her spiritual interior shows something far more sinister. Her spiritual interior is the truest form.
